This Peace Project Necklace, The Hmong Choker comes in indigo suede with a maroon, pink & purple embroidery around re-cast aluminium bomb casings.
From 1964 - 1973 approximately 270 million bombs were dropped on Laos by the USA. An estimated 80 million failed to detonate and still litter the land. Village artisans melt down this war scrap and re-cast the aluminium bomb casings into beautiful Peace Bangles, providing sustainable income for the metal workers and contributes to the development of the community. Using traditional earthen kilns and basic wood ash moulds they are turning a negative into beautiful meaningful jewellery.
